The Sydenham Society was founded in 1972 and has around 1100 members. Our aim is to be a voice for
Sydenham and to improve services and amenities in the area to make it a more attractive place to live and work. We play an active part and support all efforts to create a vibrant high street running markets and community events like the Easter Bonnet parades and Halloween celebrations. We’re strong supporters of Sydenham Community Library as well as local arts and community organisations. We’ve recently formed a Green Improvement Group which has installed planters and posters at Sydenham Station and in Station Approach. To join the Sydenham Society go to sydenhamsociety.com
FOREST HILL SOCIETY
The Forest Hill Society was founded in 2006 and has over 400 members. We are always looking for new ways to improve Forest Hill – making it a pleasurable place to live, work and shop. Our work has included planting flowers in the town centre, running food markets and street parties. We have campaigned for better train services, support local businesses including the Community Library and organise talks on local history plus much more.
We are also encouraging people to support local businesses by Tweeting about them with the hashtag #ShopSE23.
